Growing up

Peeling potatoes. Who knew that was fun? I thought Gage might be getting to the age to help out peeling potatoes.  And he is, he loved it.
The only problem was it took him FOREVER!
But that's okay. I have learned patience. I enjoyed seeing him be so excited since he was getting to help out in the kitchen other than stirring.

Just another Friday

Friday evening I ran home from work, grabbed Gage from daycare, took him to get a hair cut and we were on our way home when I remembered I hadn't checked the cows yet. We stopped by the farm and counted and checked our girls. While we were there Gage wanted to run around a bit looking for baby deer. So while he was throwing out gang signs and looking for baby deer I grabbed the camera.

N is Nest and for Nice Job!

Gage has been working for a very long time on writing his name. He was so proud to show us his paper yesterday. He wrote his name on the back and the teacher wrote back "Nice Job"

Brewster

We had a kitten show up last week. We aren't sure exactly how it got here. Allen and I have never been cat people but had been talking about getting an outside cat about the past year to help out with the mouse population out in the barn. Just so happens that this kitten lives in the barn and doesn't like coming out once we placed it there.

Since finding the kitten we also found a black cat and an orange tom cat. They have a small family now in our barn. The adults I see every couple days, the kitten on the other hand, I see every day. I bought kitten food for it. I know people say not to feed them or they won't be mousers but I think this kitten is a little too young to hunt on its own yet.
While writing this post I asked Gage,
"So what are we going to name this kitten"?
His response was Freddy or Sally.
 I said "No"
and he then threw out "Brewster"
so Brewster it is.
You may not know this but everything we have Gage wants to name either Fred, Freddy or Sally. Stuffed animals, dogs, cats, cows and calves.

Hot Tub Fun

Gage absolutely loves the hot tub.
So being a Saturday where we have no plans, whats better than  to do some quality time in the hot tub with him. We made shaved ice sodas, got him several toys, towels and headed out this morning. It was really cold but that didn't stop us!
The hot tub temperature is currently 104 degrees so when he first got in he said he thought he
was on fire.
It didn't take long and he was playing and splashing and telling me how good the water felt. An hour later I finally made him get out. I just wish he wasn't afraid of getting his head under the water. I told him I called about swimming lessons. That was also the end of the conversation about that. He wasn't happy.

Playing in the snow

Gage was so excited to finally play in the snow. He didn't understand that it doesn't always snow on Christmas. After work we bundled all up and headed out. It was so cold but that didn't' stop him from wanting to play.

Holiday Review

What a week it's been! The Holidays have came and gone, well almost that is.

Christmas Eve Gage and I headed over to my Aunt Judy's for a Christmas brunch. That is always a enjoyable time. Gage gets to hang out with his second cousin Jack who he doesn't get to see all that much. We enjoyed the morning there and headed home to play with his new toys about 1 pm. Gage was playing and wanted to open a toy that had a ton of parts and I told him no to wait till we were home. The next thing I knew he was saying he was ready to go home and telling people bye.

At this age you never know what they will say or do!

After opening his boxes when we got home we headed for the movies. Last year I wanted to start a tradition of going to the movies on Christmas Eve. Only last year didn't go so smooth. We drove in a blizzard to Pittsburg since Parsons shut down early because of the snow. This year I called ahead of time to double check showing schedules. We went and watched Yogi Bear. It was alright. Gage liked it. Allen liked the popcorn so much he ate the entire large container by himself!

Christmas Day was enjoyable. (Except Allen had a major stomach ache, I think eating all that popcorn had something to do with it!) Gage slept in so I was able to have the camera and camcorder ready for him. He came out and was excited to see Santa drank his milk, ate a cookie and left presents.

Since Christmas morning we have spent a lot of time hanging out with family and figuring out what all we received. I am so thankful for having each other and that we are blessed with a healthy son. Allen and I couldn't ask for anything more.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and has a Happy New Year.
