Yesterday afternoon and evening we sepent our 4th over at nana & papa Hoobler's house. We enjoyed an evening hanging out with the family.Gage played with water balloons and bubbles. The water balloons were popped the second I filled them up. We ate shishkabobs and had angel food cake, strawberry's and homemade ice cream for dessert. Gage got to watch Trevor and Grandma Penny do his fireworks that grandma Penny brought over. He got really tired towards dark and couldn't stay awake even when they started the fireworks. We left early since he was just sleeping. He woke up long enough to say bye bye to everyone and that was it he was out the minute I put him in his car seat.

Bubbaban's
Last night I did something that was a little fun. I made a diaper cake. One of my friends will be having her babyshower before too long and I wanted to do something special. I hope she really likes it. I did have some help making it last night. Holding the diapers togather are little girl hair rubberbands so Gage would hand me a bubbaban and we would count diapers and bubbaban's togather. Then Allen came in and helped me rubberband all the diapers togather. They seemed to want to get away from me.
Sorry for not updating this here recently. There really hasn't been anything too exciting I guess going on here lately.

It is possible to travel with a toddler!
Overview of our little vacation goes like this...
Arrived in Phoenix Wednesday evening.
Gage like I said before really liked all the planes and the airport. He really was a good little boy the whole time.
Thursday we woke up to rain and rain and a little more rain! We hung around the house most of the day. Vicki and Darci both had school till close till noon. We tried to swim that morning. A bit cold so mommy and Gage didn't stay in long. Everyone pretty much watched Quin swim (she's a little fish).
Trevor's graduation was that evening so we went to that soggy little ceremony. Around 750 kids graduated. In the pouring down soaking wet rain we sat thru the entire thing unlike almost everyone else since that was the reason we went we wanted to hear Trev's name called. So we waited for him...he was like number 744 it seemed like!
After we got back to the house and everyone got comfortable we hung out there with a small graduation party for Trevor.
Friday we wanted to go to the zoo...wasn't meant to be though. It rained and rained. We ended up going to Peter Piper Pizza (like Chucky Cheese kinda). That was fun. Gage and Quin had fun and I think mom and Vicki had a good time playing deal or no deal. They were all excited that they won 125 tickets!!!! Kids kids!
After that we went back to Vicki's. Curt, Vicki, Quin and my mom went on a sight seeing adventure. Darci and I had other plans. Since Grandma and Grandpa were at the house and not going anywhere we left my napping son with them and went and got pedicures. That was fun! We walked a couple blocks down to a little shop and every seat in the nail place was full. We then went back to the house. We had lasagna for supper and after that Darci's boyfriend Kevin came over and we all played trash train. Gage enjoyed playing with the train's and I think grandma ended up winning that game. Time change still had Gage and I so about 10 pm we headed for bed.
Saturday we woke up to...you guessed it rain! But by 10 am it was leaving so we all headed off to the zoo and had a wonderful time. I wanted to do something fun with Gage there so Gage and I rode a camel. He absolutely loved it! Thru out the tour sometime around the monkey's Gage got tired and just couldn't hang with us anymore. We were almost done by the time he fell esleep though.
After the zoo we went back to the Willems home and hung out for the part of the evening. Darci went to her boyfriends and Trevor went to his girlfriends so Vicki, Quin, Gage and I went to the mall and walked around for a while. Gage was kinda bad so we hung out for a while. We rode the carousel and then came home. We were all pretty much beat so we went to bed not long after that.
Sunday we got up to SUN! Was that possible I wondered to myself? We tried to swim but it was FREEZING! We sat by the pool and enjoyed some strawberry daquiri's and then packed and headed back to the airport.
Gage took his nap when we got up in the air and I woke him up when we were getting ready to land. Finally got home around 8 pm that evening.
All and all we had a very nice trip and I learned that my son is a good traveler and now I know it is possible to travel and stay sane.

First Plane Ride
Yesterday was quit an adventure. Gage took his first plane ride! He was very good. He got a window seat and was able to see all the other planes. He was so excited. He liked the peanuts and cheesey crackers the ladies gave him and he wanted apple juice. The ladies started to hand me one without a lid and I kinda looked at them funny and she said she would bring a lid. Good think cause we had his drink setting on the tray and we hit turbulance and it came off the tray on to the seat! Today is the Graduation party for Trevor so better get. I'll try to publish more later.

A Big Boy Room
A change in color is complete. I really like the outcome. Gage really wanted to help paint. I had never told him about paint and how to do it but when Grandpa Carnahan came over last night to finish (Gage wasn't there Wed. night to see the process) he told Grandpa Carnahan "paint"? Grandpa said yeah, i'm here to help your mommy paint. Gage then took his hand and lead him to his bedroom. Then Gage wanted to help open paint cans, stir and paint. Thats when Allen came in and had to get him out. We finished the painting in about an hour.
After the paint had dryed for a couple hours Allen wanted to see how the bed looked in the room.
So about 9:15 p.m. we started bringing in parts of the bed and putting it togather. So here is what it looks like.
Thanks to Kenny Schoenefer for Gage's bedroom suite. Let me tell you that you can't buy this nice of furniture any where out there! Allen and I had looked several places and then I gave up and printed some pictures then designed it to my taste and took it to Parsons to Bryson Nutters grandpa Kenny Schoenefer. I am so excited about how it turned out. WE LOVE IT!

Baby Burchett

Sunday afternoon Gage and I were invited over to my Aunt Judy's to get to see the newest family member. Jack Burchett! Jack was born April 13 (Gage's Birthday) and we were so excited to get to go visit them.
When we showed up Gage had fallen esleep right when we left Mound Valley so it took a few minutes for him to wake up but when he did he was somewhat interested in the baby.
We had a nice ti
me visiting and I enjoyed holding the baby too. Jack is very cute and Kari and Justin should be very proud.

A Busy Saturday
Well starting out today Gage decided he wanted to get up at 6:30 a.m. even though he didn't get put to bed till around 11:00 p.m. last night when we got home.
Allen, Gage and I headed outside today to start on putting a flower garden spot in front of our front porch. We had went to Joplin last night and purchased some stones for it. Gage was WAY too much help. We finally finished the job after Allen flipped the stones over several times to make it look right. After a couple trips to Lavendar Landscapes and back home the project was finished by lunch. I then filled the old red wagon we have with an arrangement of flowers (shown above).
Here is a picture of the finished project.
I really like how it turned out!
The reason for us doing this today was b/c I was going to paint Gage's bedroom today but his comforter didn't come in yet and I wanted to match the paint with his bedding. Well, about 4:30 p.m. this afternoon FedEx pulled in the drive with the goodies! Little late but oh well
. Now i'll have it and maybe paint next weekend. Here is a picture of the bedding.
